Okay, Cool New McKenna Stuff!

Hey everybody! I was on www.dolldiaries.com and there were more pictures of McKenna stuff! So go on over to http://bonggafinds.blogspot.com/ to see McKenna's most of McKenna's collection!

P.S. Did anyone else notice that when a picture of Chrissa and McKenna are next to each other, they look VERY similar? Hmmm........

You know that post I did back in August of 2010...

...where I made a list of books I liked? I'm going to continue making lists....because lists are awesome.

First, I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and enjoyed the day (I sure did).
Next, I want to make a list of how late I've stayed up 'till, (I know, kinda random, huh?)

In no particular order:
~1:11 A.M, December 26th, 2011
~3 ? A.M, a few years ago
~All night, a little more than a year ago
~2 ? A.M, a few months ago

Yup...there's that. Here's a list of books I've read since September until today:
Savvy
The Sea of Monsters
The Titan's Curse
Allie Finkle's Rules for girls: Books 1-6
Becoming Naomi Leon
Flipped
Finally
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Books 2-6
13 Gifts
Found

All of those books are pretty awesome! I need to do an "Awesome Book Reviews" post on them all, it'll be a long one!
See, I'm trying to post more, so that's good!
I'll do a Christmas 2011 post later this week, hopefully before New Year's because I'll be doing a post for that, too!

See ya later, and please, please comment!

McKenna

Wow. This is rare that I'm doing 2 posts in one day...within an hour of each other!!!
I saw on Anne's blog over at American Girl Friends, www.dollfriends101.blogspot.com and she talked about the new American Girl doll of the Year for 2012, McKenna!
Go to www.dolldiaries.com to see a picture of her. I'm really excited to read her stories, it looks like she'll be a gymnastics girl! Ooooohhhhh........so EXCITING!
OK, well, I need to do some researching and find out some more stuff about McKenna!

I'd Like Some Snow Please!

(This was a picture I took of Chrissa all geared up for winter.)

You know, winter is my favorite season. And there are many awesome things in winter, like different holidays, and snow! Plus, I'm on a two-week winter break, so that's even better. In the state that I live in, we're supposed to get snow around this time of the year. Well, we got some snow, maybe just enough to go sledding in, but the grass would show through after the sled goes over it. In 2007 or 2008 (can't remember which winter in which year) we received I HUGE amount of snow, where we got in return 5 snow days where we didn't have to go to school. My point is, one of the reasons why I love living where I do is because we truly get every season. There is a definite feeling to winter, spring, summer, and fall........but I'm not quite feeling the winter vibe yet. I love the snow!

50th Post and Dolphin Tale

This is way too cool, it's my 50th post! And about time too, because it took me almost 2 years until I got 50 posts! Ha!

Also, I saw the awesome movie Dolphin Tale last night, and let me say, after the movie, it made me want a dolphin! I really did love that movie, and I'm sure anyone will after seeing this film. Have you seen Dolphin Tale? What did you think of it?

I'm Sick...And Other Stuff

Hey all, I'm not in school right now, because I'm sick. :( And, I have been since, like April. I got a sinus infection last spring, and I thought it went away, but it didn't completely go away. But after going to the doctor many, MANY times, getting many rounds of antibiotics, recieving other different types of medicine, I'm finally, finally slowly getting better. I'm so glad too, because I'm sick of being sick! Just thought I'd let you all know.

Also, I heard this song a month or two ago, and I just LOVE the message it is trying to send. It's called "Keep Your Head Up." I've been hearing things like "It's all how you look at it." And really, I have always thought things to be horrible and terrible, but really, most things that I'd worry about are not things that are worth stressing over. For example, I knew a few weeks ago that I wasn't going to get straight A's like I always have, and I realized that, I got 3 A- and 3 A's, but they were still good grades. I didn't beat myself up over it, either, like I usually would've. Just trying to keep a positive attitude on things that you thought to be bad, sometimes turns out to be okay instead.

So, I had some random stuff to post about, plus a picture of my first 4 American Girl dolls that I took last April. Now that I think of it, I need to take some pictures of my new AG doll, then I'll post them later...

Thanks for Reading!

Christmas Theme!

Hello everyone! I'm posting while I have free time! Yay! Anyway, in my last post, I didn't talk about the new Christmas Theme I have because I didn't want to go on, and on, (even though I kinda did.) But, I am just so proud of myself that I decided to do a Christmas Theme, because I haven't changed it since Spring of last year. So that's good! Above, the picture is of something I did on paint when I was younger. (Yes, I now know how to draw a person with clothes on.) I just thought it would be fun to show you all how funny it looked. I'll do another one sometime to show you the difference between the two. Well, gotta go, see you later!

Update

Hello everyone! I have much updating to do........

Like I said in the earlier post, I went to the American Girl Place grand opening in Seattle over the summer. There are the pictures above ^
I have many more, but I can't post them because I'm in them, and you know, privacy and all that...But, it was so much fun! We got up at around 2 or 3 A.M, but I wasn't really tired until later. I was one of the first 100 people in line, so that was GREAT! We made friends with the people standing in line around us, and the girls were all around my age! I was able to get a new doll, a MAG, (which I named Caroline) and many different outfits for my dolls. Afterward, I got a pretzel and this yummy slushie-type drink.

We also went to a LEGO store for my brother, and that was so awesome too!

I had forgotten every month since May to do that Treat-a-month calender thing, so I'll do the rest of them now!

June:

Rainbow Delight

Soften French Vanilla ice cream (or another favorite flavor) for five minutes before scooping a little ice cream between two colored vanilla wafers. Roll edges in candy sprinkles. Freeze until hard (about 30 minutes).

Also, in June, I had a violin recital in a park close to our home. It was really easy to enjoy after I got done with my song...I had lots of fun listening to others play the piano, violin, guitar and sing. I also had a dance recital in June, and I have to say, my class worked really well together to make it look cool!

July:

Berry Sparkler

Ask an adult to cut an angel food cake into cubes. Layer strawberry slices, cake cubes, and whipped topping into dishes. Top each parfait with a dollop of whipped topping and a few strawberry slices.

During July, I participated in different sports camps, volleyball and tennis. I learned a lot at the camps, but I didn't do volleyball at my school this year. I'm still debating over tennis in the spring.

August:

Flurry Float

Scoop vanilla ice cream into a 3-ounce plastic cup, filling cup about 1/3 full. Press ice cream firmly into bottom. Insert a food-safe stick into ice-cream. Slowly pour grape juice into cup until it is almost full. Cover top of cup with foil, poking end of stick through foil. Freeze overnight, and then remove cup and foil. Enjoy your treat!

In August, I was preparing for school, we had been so busy during June and July, that I spent most of this month relaxing.

September:

S'more Mix

Unwrap 3-chocolate bars and break into small pieces. In a large bowl, mix with 4 cups graham-cracker cereal and 2 cups mini marshmallows.

I started school again during this month, and I just want to say, 7th grade is HARD! My teachers are way more strict this tear, and I get more homework, too. But, I still like it. :)

October

Witch Hats

Using a tube of orange icing, spread it on the bottom of a chocolate kiss candy. Press the candy firmly onto the chocolate covered side of a chocolate-striped cookie. Add a line of icing on the cookie around the edge of the candy. Finish it off with a bow.

I hadn't really thought of a Halloween costume this year, so mine was really last minute. My mom came up with a great idea, to be a cat!

My brother went as Harry Potter, and with mine, I had all black on with some ears and a tail, and my mother drew on a nose and whiskers with some type of makeup thingy (I don't wear any, so I don't remember what it's called).

November:

Cinnamon Sipper

In a large saucepan, combine 8 cups cranberry-apple juice, 4 whole cloves, and 4 cinnamon sticks. Ask an adult to simmer the mixture on low heat for at least 30 minutes. Remove from heat, and let cool slightly. Remove spices. Pour into cups, and add a red cinnamon candy stick to each drink.

During November, we had Thanksgiving, I really liked getting together with my family. It was (and I know this word is not very descriptive,) fun!

And now we come to December, and it's hard to believe that 2011 is almost over! I think one of my New Year's resolutions will be to post on my blog more!

Well friends, thanks for reading, and sorry for not posting for a long time. I am going to try to post at least once a month. But, I need to warn you, I have school, homework, violin and I need to have down time, so I might not be able to, and also, I might not have interesting things to post about! Also, the recipes do not belong to me, I did not make them up, they were from the American Girl Treat-a-month calendar for 2011.
See you later!

A Post

Hello bloggers!

Did you all have a nice Easter? I did. I like that holiday, (and no, I don't just like it for the candy).
The April recipe that I didn't have time to post about last month (sorry!) Was called "Poppin' Party" Here are the instructions:
Step 1: Have an adult pop a bag of microwave popcorn.
Step 2: Put in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag.
Step 3: Add different mix-ins like Kettle Corn (1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon)
Pucker Popper (1 teaspoon dry ranch dressing mix)
Tex Mix (1 teaspoon taco seasoning, 2 tablespoons powdered
cheese topping)
Or add your own mix-ins!

The recipe for May is "Cinnamon Chips with Sweet Salsa"
Step 1: Cut soft tortillas into chip shapes.
Step 2: Put the chips on a piece of wax paper and spray with butter spray.
Step 3: Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top.
Step 4: Move the chips to a cookie sheet and ask an adult to bake them in the oven for 10 minutes on 400 degrees or until lightly brown.

Sweet Salsa
Step 1: Ask an adult to blend about 10 frozen strawberries and set aside.
Step 2: Ask an adult to dice different fruits (like kiwis, mangoes, bananas and pineapples).
Step 3: In a large bowl, mix all of the "salsa" ingredients together.

*I got all of the recipe ideas from the American Girl Magazine Treat a Month Calender 2011. I do not own any of it. :)

Awesome Book Reviews!!!!!

Hello everyone! I have recently read a few books and I decided to do a post about them! So, here we go.........

First is "Finally" By: Wendy Mass. This book is about a girl named Rory who "Finally" turns 12. Her parents had promised her throughout the years of things she could do or have when she turned 12, but not everything turns out as planned. I really like this book and is probably one of my favorites! I would give it 5 out of 5 stars!

Second is "Phillipa Fisher's Fairy Godsister" by Liz Kessler. This is about a girl named Phillipa who's best friend moves away, her parents are weird and a girl is mean to her at school. She really wants her life to get better and she meets someone who can help her. I also really liked this book. I've read this book twice now, but I still think it's very good. I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars!

Third is "Love, Ruby Lavender" by Deborah Wiles. This book was about a girl named Ruby who lives in a small town with a few problems. Her grandmother is going to Hawaii for the summer and she doesn't have any friends. Ruby does find some good surprises and some not-so-good surprises. I liked this book too, but I didn't like some things that happened in the book. So I would give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Fourth is "Millicent Min, Girl Genius" by Lisa Yee who is also the author of the Kanani books for American Girl and the "Good Luck, Ivy" book for them as well. This book is about a girl named Millicent who is a genius who has skipped 5 grades. (She's 11 and a senior in high school). She is very close to her grandmother, and she doesn't really have any other friends. So over the summer, her mom signs her up for a volleyball class and she has to tutor her enemy! She finds lots of surprises and at the end of the book, there is a BIG SURPRISE! I absolutely loved this book. I'm so excited because Lisa Yee wrote 2 other books about the other 2 main characters in the story's point of view so I can't wait to read those too! I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars!

Well, that concludes this post! Until next time, Goodbye! :)

"See Green" Recipe

Hello! This recipe is from American Girl Magazine's "Treat a Month" calender. It's a smoothie...

YOU MAY NEED AN ADULT TO HELP YOU WITH THIS RECIPE

Step 1: Gently break 2 small lime frozen fruit bars off their sticks.
Step 2: Ask an adult to peel 2 kiwis.
Step 3: Place the lime fruit bars, kiwis and 1 cup of plain vanilla yogurt into a blender.
Step 4: Ask an adult to blend the mixture until smooth.
Step 5: Top with whipped cream and green sprinkles.

A Bunch of Random Stuff

Hello everyone! I'm sorry I didn't post on St. Patrick's Day! I do like that holiday.......

But anyway, I was just thinking that I could put more effort into my blog than I have been. Since summer break is almost here, I'll be able to spend more time on my blog. I will be doing more posts, photo stories, book reviews and a couple new things. I thought it would be fun if I wrote in a different color font each month depending on the holiday/theme. Also, if you subscribe to American Girl Magazine, you know that they sent out a little "Treat A Month" calender. It's really cool and I will be sharing the recipe for each food/drink for every month on here! I will dedicate one post to the recipe I write. I'm getting excited............

Awesome Book Reviews!!!!!

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I did some book reviews, so I'll do one now........

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K Rowling. Another AWESOME book in the Harry Potter series. This book is when Harry and his friends are in year 4 at Hogwarts, and two other schools, Durmstrang and Beauxbatons, come to Hogwarts to compete in the Triwizard Tournament. It was an amazing book and I loved it! Probably one of my favorite in the Harry Potter series. This book is 734 pages long and I loved every part of it. I would give it 5 stars and would totally recommend to anyone!

The next one is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix again, by J.K Rowling. Harry and his friends are at their 5th year at Hogwarts. Harry keeps having weird dreams that he's walking down a corridor, he wants to get to it, but always wakes up before he get to the end! Plus, their is a new Defense against the Dark Arts teacher yet again, and many surprises at school and You-Know-Who is getting stronger by the day! This book is 870 pages long and the longest book in the series. I did like the book, just not as much as the other ones. I was quite surprised at the end. I would give it 4.50 stars out of 5.

This one is Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K Rowling. Harry is in his 6th year at Hogwarts and is getting help with Potions class by the "Half-Blood Prince". Harry tries to figure out who he is while he gets private lessons from the Headmaster himself, Dumbledore. You-Know-Who is getting stronger and out looking for Harry. This book is 652 pages long and another one of my favorites. I was shocked throughout the book and surprised, too. I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

The last one that I have for you today is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows still, by J.K Rowling. I was nervous to start it because I knew that when I ended it, there would be no more Harry Potter books. :( But I read it anyway. I was even more surprised and shocked with this book than I was with the others. I would have never imagined that she would choose to write it the way she did, but yes, I am VERY happy that she wrote it the way she did. This book is 759 pages including the epilogue. I would absolutely give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Actually, 6 out of 5 stars. ;D

P.S: I already started the series over again! Heeheehee!

New AG Store!

Hello everyone! I was just on Doll Diaries, www.dolldiaries.com/american-girl-opening-store-in-lynnwood-wa/ and there is a new American Girl Place that is under construction in Lynnwood Washington in the Alderwood Mall! I am so excited for it to be built because almost all of the of the American Girl Places are on the east coast and the only other one on the Pacific coast is the one in Los Angeles which might be too far away for some people who live in the Pacific Northwest! Yay! What do you think?

The AWESOME New AG Stuff!

Hello everyone! I was just on American Girl a little bit ago and I saw that there was some more new things for springtime! I got so excited thinking about school almost being out for summer! Anyway, I'm going to tell you what things I like the best.....

Flower Garden Dress
Tennis Skirt Set
Campus Casual Outfit
Chocolate Chip (The new Puppy)

I love the Flower Garden Dress because it totally reminds me of Spring.

I love the Tennis Skirt Set because I like to play tennis.

I like the Campus Casual Outfit because it has pink all over it and pink is my FAVORITE COLOR!
And I love Chocolate Chip the puppy because she's just so cute!!!!!!!!

Also, I've been thinking about if I really want Kanani for my next doll, and I decided I don't really want her as much as I did when she first came out. The doll that I do want to save up for is a "My American Girl" doll. I'm really excited because I have about $75 saved up already! Each time when I do save up for an American Girl doll, I always think I want to get a "My American Girl". But I never do! So this time, I'm really going to get a MAG doll! ;D

Lanie Stuff!

Hello everyone! I was just on the American Girl Website and I typed "Lanie" into the search box just to see what would happen. I was surprised to see that it came up with all of the Lanie items that did not sell out. So, if you want Lanie's Butterfly outfit, Lanie's Nature outfit and accessories, Lanie's garden outfit, the blue, white, green or red matching nature shirt for you and your doll, the headband for girls or the nightgown for girls, you're in luck, they're still available. Also the books are available too.

Happy New Year everyone! Right now it is 12:06 on the morning of January 1 2011! This is going to be a great year!
